Theft of Motor Vehicle

Dear Resident

This Month we have had some vehicle Thefts on Abbots Road , and Railway Terrace .

If you have any information relating to this crime you can click the reply button at the bottom of the email, or by contacting the police on the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime number 41/104720 and 41/102353/26 .

Alternatively, you can give information anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Tips to prevent vehicle crime:

Ensure you lock doors and shut windows/sunroof when leaving your vehicle unattended.

Always remove keys from the ignition when you are not with the vehicle

When parking, remember to set your immobiliser or alarm or use an approved steering lock or gear lever clamp.

Never leave valuables in your vehicle – not even in the glove box or boot – and keep all possessions out of sight – even coats, sunglasses and carrier bags.

Be aware of your keys. Don’t leave them visible on a windowsill or near to your front door, where they could be “hooked” through the letterbox or a keyless signal can be received by relay devices.

If you have a keyless entry car use a signal blocking bag and consider using additional trackers, steering wheel locks or ghost immobilisers.

Store car ownership documents at home, not in your car.

Please be vigilant and report any suspicious activities in the area.

If you need to report a crime please call 101 or go online here.

Our priority survey is also always open for feedback to be provided - you can complete it by following the button below
